A Bunch of Firsts...

Emory has been such a busy little bee!! We have been experiencing a bunch of "firsts" around the Dess household and it has been so much fun. It seems like she is growing up way too fast and learning new things daily.

Here is our first trip to the Dallas Aquarium. We meet our friends the Cooley's for the morning and the it was a lot of fun. Emory enjoyed spending they day with Grant and seeing all the fish. It was a great place and we will have to go back soon! It got me on a kick to take advantage of the things Dallas has to offer.

Here is the first (I am sure of many to come!) picture of Emory's messy morning hair. I like this picture because it also proves that she does in fact have hair! We are probably going to have to deal with the mullet-ish style that it seems to be growing in as, but for right now I could not be more pleased. Pig-tails here we come!!!

Another first that Emory has experienced lately is... opening doors. We are doomed! She is a free woman now that she can get into any room that she wants. She pulls the handle, pushes the door and in she goes.

This past Sunday, we went to our friends the Cooley's house for Emory's first super bowl. Emory loves being around Carson. The kids had so much fun keeping tabs on what the other was doing. Emory really had fun with all of Carson's toys, especially his pick up truck. They were rarely in the car at the same time, so here is one of the few pictures together. Carson's super cool aunt Hailey started playing a game of screaming while running down the hall, while Emory could not fully participate she enjoyed it just as much. The most exciting first that has been going on is Emory's first steps!!! I doubted this day would come but Emory is getting more courageous about walking around our house. She still prefers to crawl because she can go so much faster but she will be running in no time.

Emory is not the only person who has big first occasions lately. Emory wants to tell Daddy how proud she is of him for being the top sales person of 2008 at his job. Good job Daddy, we love you very, very much!

Katherine had a mullet for awhile. Her hair is still all random lengths but because of her curls and the fact that it is longer it no longer looks like a mullet. It will be hard but persevere through the awkward phase!
