Ups and Downs...

With all of Emory's exploring, she has got herself into some sticky situations lately. She is climbing up on everything, and with that comes sitting down. For awhile, Emory didn't like sitting down, so after she stood up and knocked everything onto the floor she was left crying for help. Notice in these pictures her bottom was like 3 inches from the floor. Don't worry, she has figured it all out now.

Here she has pulled up again. Luckily, the table is just the right height for her to stand under.

Emory LOVES her swing!! Grant will take her outside almost every night when he gets home from work. We are fortunate to have a huge magnolia tree out back that already had hooks in a limb for a baby swing. It was meant to be.

Pure joy! Here is a sneak peek of Emory's Halloween costume. See more on Friday!

Emory has learned how to press the glow worm and make it play music, which also lights up the face. If that wasn't entertainment enough, she also taps LuLu's tummy and it sings the alphabet song at the same time. Enjoy the madness that is our play time.

Busy, Busy Bee!

I am so tired! Emory is constantly on the move and if that isn't enough to wear me out she has decided to take only one nap a day. We are both adjusting to that!

Emory is in LOVE with flap books. Any book that she can help us read is a big hit. You can see in this video she has it memorized.

Emory has started pulling herself up on things. This plastic bin was in the hall and she thought it was the perfect opportunity to try out her new skill.

This is the activity that Emory enjoys the most lately. She starts at her play table and walks from the ottoman to the couch. What a smart baby.

Arboretum Fun!!!

On Monday, Emory and I met Kristi and Carson at the Arboretum. It was a very busy place and I think the kids had some fun. It is so beautiful and every time I go I start asking myself why I don't go all the time.

"Mmmm, pumpkin."

I had to get a picture showing her new boots!! A must have!

Carson was a very busy guy at the arboretum. Here he is patting the pumpkins.

I thought this picture was an example of an outing with Carson (from my experience). I barely could get him in the picture because he was running by. But he still looks adorable!

We tried to do a picture together...

We had a wonderful morning and hopefully we can go back before it gets too cold. Soon enough Emory will be running around to catch Carson!

Pumpkin Patch... Again.

Ok, ok so I love fall. And with that comes a love of pumpkin patches, cool days, and dressing my baby up in lovely fall clothes that I have been anxiously waiting to put on her. Today was just that day! It was in the 60's and we had no serious plans to speak of, so off we went. Just like last time, she was having so much fun with the hay on the ground and didn't even notice the large orange pumpkins around her.
I think Emory was having just as much fun as I was!
What a wonderful day. Hopefully the weather will stay cool and we can have more outings like this.

Melts My Heart...

Emory has been saying mama for awhile now, but I have not been able to get it on video, until now! She will look at me and say mama and it just makes my heart melt. What a sweet little girl we have.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Grant's birthday! Yipee! Unfortunately, Grant had to work today but Emory and I met up with him for lunch. She is so excited to see her daddy, she now knows the sound of the garage door opening and starts making her way to the kitchen to greet him. What a great daddy she has and we hope that Grant had a wonderful birthday. Ever try to use a camera timer with a baby? Not the easiest task.
What a good daddy...
WE LOVE YOU!

Happy 10 Month Birthday!!!

Emory is just more and more fun ever day. She is constantly amazing us with how fast she starts doing things we didn't think she could do. She is exploring our house (still doing her army crawl) and she really likes to try and find mommy and daddy if one of us is in a different room. I LOVE her saying ma-ma and I am sure da-da will be along soon for Grant. Emory has started to laugh when she hears us laugh, which is so funny. She has tried so much food now but her current favorite is cheese.

For this month's pictures, Emory is wearing a dress that was her Nanny Dess'. Of course a game of peek-a-boo started soon after the picture taking did.Emory and I take a music class every Wednesday morning and she really likes it. She is one of the most vocal babies in the class and loves to dance around. We are very lucky to have our friend Carson and his mom in the class with us, last week we decided to take some pictures after class.

Here is what the class is like for Kristi and Carson... Carson is constantly running around, he is such a busy boy!

The kids sharing...

Emory normally crashes after her music class, as you can see.

We took Emory to a little pumpkin patch by our house this weekend. It was still way too hot and she didn't understand what hay was which distracted her while we were there. I am sure we will go back once it's a little cooler.
