Memorial Day Fun!!!

We were so happy to see uncle Ryan and aunt Jenny for Memorial Day. They came over and we grilled a yummy dinner. Emory showed them her new sprinkler animal park that Jaypa and Nanny bought for her. Thank you Jaypa and Nanny! She had so much fun playing with them and playing with her new toy. The only thing that would make it even more fun is a little cousin to play with..... because Ryan and Jenny are having a baby in November!! Yeah, we cannot wait to meet the little guy/girl!!

Grant thought it would be a great idea to make Emory a water slide and put one of the sprinklers on her climber. I don't know if she thought it was as much fun as we did. Maybe next time she will enjoy that more.

Here is another video of what Emory has been interested in lately, stacking. Please ignore my annoying mommy comments.

Sick Baby...

Emory is such a healthy girl, but last week we got our first fever. Our little one was out of commission for about 2 days, but is back running around again. Nothing some good snuggling and a bunch of veggie tales videos couldn't fix.
Starting to feel better, tea party anyone?

More Arboretum Fun...

Yet another trip to the Arboretum, proving membership was well worth it for our family. It is starting to get warm and the time we can spend there is getting short, but I will try and go whenever we can. Going there is perfect after she wakes up from her nap until daddy gets home.

Chasing the squirrels. They just didn't want to play with Emory.

My parents sent Emory some adorable pjs, and she was just too cute not to get a picture in them!

Here is a big moment in my daughter's life... eating her first green olive! I cooked a hamburger and green olive pizza the other night, which my mom use to make, and I thought it was a good opportunity to see what Emory would do. You might say that my family is a little obsessed with green olives. We all get jars of green olives in our stockings, yes it's true. So it was a proud day in my life.

A Mother's Day Treat...

No, not a treat for me but for Emory. I guess that is a good definition of being a mother, giving your child a treat on the day designated to receive one yourself. But I will get to that in a minute. We had a very busy weekend that included 3 trips to the airport in 3 days. We took a quick trip to Austin with Grant's parents for a funeral, came back to Dallas the next day and then took his parents to the airport on Sunday. We were so happy to see Grant's parents and how lucky to spend Mother's Day with Grant's mom. We went to a yummy brunch at Bread Winners and all took naps to catch up on sleep. It was a great day, then Grant told me I can have a mini mother's day remix this weekend because I didn't even take a picture with Emory on Sunday because we were so busy.
Now for the treat. Emory ate a very good dinner, and what little girl doesn't deserve a reward. Pudding. She couldn't of been happier. She started off slow and showed off her spoon skills.
Things started to get a little more messy.
Forget the spoon!!
Our adorable little messy Dessy!

Evil Knievel!!!

Emmy has turned into a little dare devil and loves to stand on anything. It has turned into a game for her to stand up and wait for us to tell her to sit down, only so she can laugh and do it all over again. Notice that the jingle monkey slippers have made a return. That little turkey!

Helpful Little Girl...

We are so blessed to have such a helpful little girl.

She feeds the hungry... OK so she is feeding her friend Abi, and though Abi is very well cared for and fed, what baby turns down cheerios.
She recycles... maybe it's more like plays with boxes around the house, but that's reusing it, right? Obviously daddy was having just as much fun as Emory.

She cleans up after herself... not putting away toys but changing her own diaper. This needs some background information. I had just changed her (dirty) diaper and let her down to play in her room, I walked into the living room and called her to come out. I heard her little feet running down the hall and to my surprise as she turns the corner she has her diaper in hand. Not just a diaper, but a poopy diaper. Yes, so helpful!
