So Close...

While Emmy is not rolling over yet, she is VERY close. She does baby push ups and leans to the side. Chelle is half tempted to give her a little push and get things going. But we will wait for Emmy's timing.
Emmy is so proud of how high she is lifting her head.

Sometimes she gets a little frustrated with this whole tummy time thing.
Emory rubs her eyes when she is tired. Chelle has tried to get a good picture of it, this is close.
Here are some pictures of her smiling. Emmy looks like she just got away with something when she smiles.

Omaha or Bust!

This past week, our family took a trip to Omaha to see the grandparents. We decided to drive and thankfully we did with all the stuff we took with us. Hopefully we can cut down on "necessities" for the next trip.
Of course Emmy really enjoyed getting to see all her grandparents again. So many things had changed since she saw them in December. Here are some pictures of Emmy with Jay-pa and Nanny Dess. The puppies had to get involved!!Emmy getting read a story by Nanny Dess...
Lucky for us both sets of grandparents live in Omaha so Emory got to see Grandpa and Grandma Zimmerman too!Oh how happy she was to be in Omaha!!Emory found herself a napping partner this week. We joked that she was rocking Grandpa Zimmerman to sleep instead of the other way around. Either way, they both got plenty of naps in!!! Emory got to meet someone very special while in Omaha, her great-grandma Shirley!! Grandma's husband was who we named Emory after. We think she liked being held by her great-grandma.We were so glad that grandma Shirley could come down to meet Emory. It was also good because we took a four generation picture!! Too bad Emory missed the whole thing. It was so nice being with our family and relaxing. Emory didn't know what to think about the cold weather, but we kept her bundled up in this pink outfit uncle Ryan gave her. It was adorable.Emmy also got to meet a new friend Abby. Chelle's friend Jenny had a daughter 2 days before us, sealing the deal that they will be best friends!! Here are Chelle and Jenny at the "Sip and See" that Rhonda and Jeri had in Omaha. We did a baby swap for the picture. We were also fortunate enough to spend time with Chelle's friend Traci. She told Emmy all sorts of interesting stories from Africa. (She had just gotten back in the country the day before).Sadly, we had to leave Omaha and head home. It was a wonderful week of showing Emmy off to family and friends and getting some cold weather. The trip home was long, but we are glad to be back. Here is where the silliness of middle-of-no-where-Kansas kicks in."There's no place like home.... there's no place like home."

Working Girl...

On Wednesday Emmy wanted to see where her dad works and take him lunch. She was walked all around to meet some of Grant's friends and after that Emmy thought she would help Grant with his work. Maybe then he could come home early and play!

"Guidestone Financial... This is Emmy how can I help you?"
"Why do these people keep talking about rollovers?!? I'm only 2 months old, and I just started being able to lift my head!"
"Just sending out some emails...""Daddy you're right this is tough work, I'm going to go home and take a nap. Thanks for letting me come to your work!"

Good Morning Sunshine!!!

This weekend Grant got to experience one of the highlights of Chelle's day. Saturday morning Grant went in to get Emmy out of her crib and found a very happy baby laying there. She is so happy to see us that all she can do is smile and coo. Grant was so excited he took some pictures of our beautiful baby.

Keeping with the smiling theme, here is video of Emmy smiling at her new favorite toy, a multi-colored caterpillar. Sorry for the annoying rattle noise but that comes with baby toys!

Strong Baby

Emmy has gotten very good at lifting her head up. Even when we hold her she wants to keep her head up and look around at whats going on. She also has started to lean to one side when shes on her tummy, getting close to rolling to the right. We find ourselves cheering her on to turn over.

Emory is giving smiles very often now. Late at night if Emory won't go to sleep, she can smile at us and make us forget how tired we are. That sneaky little baby!!

Happy 2 Month Birthday!!!

Time is going by so fast, we can't believe our little lady is already 2 months old. She is changing so fast. Emmy is giving us many more coos and smiles which we are loving and lets us feel like we are doing something right. Here are some pictures we took of her for her 2 month birthday...

Completely unimpressed. Sometimes she looks smug in her pictures which we think is very funny. We really need to work with Emory on that double chin!
After taking those pictures she decided to spit up on her dress, so we changed and took some more pictures of her later.

Chelle caught Emory mid-sneeze. Just thought it was a funny picture...
There is something new in this picture.... any idea? Look closely at Emmy's left side of her face. Thats right a DIMPLE!!! We have only noticed it on that one side but maybe she'll get it on the right too. It just makes her more adorable.
Chelle is still tying to get a picture of Emmy in a hat and smiling. It doesn't seem to work that way.
