3 Months Old!!!

Already 3 months old! I love the age Gabe is at right now, because anything you say to him will make him smile. You might have to say things in a goofy voice, but it's worth it when he grins back. Gabe is sleeping more at night, yipee! He goes to bed around 7pm, wakes up to eat at 2am and wakes up in the morning at 7:30 am. He has started to find his hands, I know because sometimes I hear smacking on the baby monitor. His favorite toy is still the light up star, but he is really liking the bouncy seat too (Emory is also enjoying the bouncy seat again).
When did he get so big?
Gabe is such a wonderful and happy little man (no bias here)!

Smiles...

Gabe is a big smiler now. The things that make him smile the most are his light up star toy, glow worm (when big sister is not around), getting his diaper changed, and anytime he hears Emory's voice. I will have to remind him of that when he is 13 and she's 15.

Gabe Sitting Up...

Welcome back Bumbo! I am so glad that Gabe is old enough to use the Bumbo seat, at least for a short amount of time. I think babies look so silly in these chairs. He is just lounging around, while sitting up. For my kids, the Bumbo emphasizes their double chins, which also makes them look so adorable! I think Gabe really likes sitting up because he can watch his sister run around. I am so happy with how much he loves Emory. As you can also see from Gabe's shirt, he is spitting up more because he has some reflux. Last week he was getting more and more fussy, so we took him to see the pediatrician and got things figured out. We also found out that he gained 7 oz in one week!! Now he weighs 12 lbs 13 oz. Wow! I knew he was eating more (because it made him feel better) but I didn't realize how much more. Everyone keeps telling me how good that is, or it's because he is a boy, sure sure. But as you can see by our smiling little guy, he is feeling much better.

A First...

How I love my little girl! We had a first of many girl firsts in Emory's life. Tonight after dinner, I asked Emory if she wanted to paint her toe nails. Her response was... "Aunt Jenny's Toes." Yes Emory just like Aunt Jenny, who has pretty painted toes. So I grabbed the pink sparkly polish I bought just for Emory and we began. Her little toes looked so cute painted pink and I think I liked it more than she did. Ready and waiting....
Watching mommy work...
The finished product!
Does this mean she likes it or not? I am going to assume she does. We will have many more toe painting sessions at the Dess house!

Happy Baby Boy!!!

I am finding it more difficult to have the time to take pictures of my sweet baby boy. But today, we had a little photo session! Poor baby. Gabe is smiling now and I have found some toys that make him happy. He especially likes a baby Einstein star that lights up and of course the glow worm. Emory does not like to share her glow worm, so Gabe only gets it when she is sleeping, ssshhh don't tell!
Ok mom, let's get back to playing...

Happy Easter!!

We started off our Easter weekend with an Easter party on Saturday at the church where Emory goes to school. Things kicked off with an Easter egg hunt. She has had some practice before this, so she knew just what to do. You can see she was right in front waiting to go.
"Come on Daddy!"
Showing off her loot...
They had a face painting station and we decided Emory should try it. She was an adorable puppy! She is still talking about getting her face painted and I think we will keep hearing about her being a puppy. She started off unsure about the whole thing...
Our little puppy!
They also had a petting zoo, which Emory was a huge fan of. She kept petting the "baby deer", as she called it, which really was a goat. I don't know how she even knows what a deer is, but we went with it.
Then today, Sunday, we went to church and then headed over to Uncle Ryan and Aunt Jenny's house for lunch. They were so kind to invite us over. Yummy Honey Baked Ham! We were fortunate enough to get a picture with all the kids (semi smiling).
The Dess family of 4! Emory is super happy because Ella was getting into jammies for nap time and Emory could see her tummy. She LOVES Ella Grace!
Aunt Jenny was too kind and hid Easter eggs for Emory. She has so much fun finding them in the yard. When we got back inside Emory had fun pouring out the candy on the floor with Uncle Ryan. Thank you so much for inviting us over for lunch you guys!

2 Month Check Up...

I took Gabe to the doctor this week for his 2 month check up and he is doing fantastic! He is such an easy baby which makes our appointment go by super fast. Of course Gabe did not appreciate the shots, but a little cuddle with mom helps calm him down.Admiring that handsome boy in the mirror.
More double chin evidence... We love it!
Gabe is 22 inches long (15%) and weighs 12 lbs 6 oz (60%). He is growing so fast! Emory was 11 lbs 10 oz at her 2 month check up, so Gabe is right on track with his sister. Gabe thinks our pediatrician is very nice, but he is also glad not to go back for 2 months!
